Ticket to US: SAT



Which current exam takes you 3 hours and 45 minutes of severe mind hogging???? Do we call it SAT???Let’s have a look at some unknown facts about SAT. SAT is a paper based test used by colleges of United States at a wider scale. This test was introduced in the year 1926. Since then several times the nomenclature have been changed from Scholastic Aptitude test then scholastic assessment test, SAT reasoning test and finally SAT.

College Board which is a private non-profit organization in United States owns and publishes this test. SAP is developed and administered on behalf of College Board by Educational Testing service. 

SAT has different sections like: Mathematics, Critical reading and writing. Score range from 600-2400 words. SAT takes place 7 times a year. Isn’t that huge?? So, prepare round the year and give your exam and get ready to study in US with diverse study as well as student culture. 

SAT offers you a highly lucrative career. There are a number of companies and organizations who are extending help to SAT prospectors in the form of career Counselling. They offer you online books, journals, test materials and many more. It has been observed that this career counsellors have been contributing to student’s success. But if the figures are to be seen then very few to be true. Mostly this companies want to make money out of this exams. They incur huge fees and load students with a number of unwanted study materials which actually make students confuse rather than adding to their intelligence. And also there are a number of studies which show that SAT does not require any special coaching or tutoring. One can easily crack SAT by full concentration and presence of mind.


But most of the times it has been observed that students are under deep stress and because of this stress factor they are unable to prioritize their time and work. So, what they need at this point of time is not rigorous coaching but a dedicated career counsellor. It may be the case that a student after completing his/her matriculation is completely confused about which path to choose for higher studies? He is unable to gauge his area of interest. Thus, in that case if he gets a truly professional and dedicated career counsellor it will be like a God sent gift for him. Career counselling by an experienced counsellor can understand his area of interest and give him suggestions accordingly.

It may also be the situation that US College, its study culture is attracting you but once you step into a US college, you soon realize that you are not at the right place. US colleges might seem attractive but if it’s not your choice than why to waste your time??? SAT will lead to US colleges where you can study many new innovative subjects which are not available in India. So, if your interest lies in studying those unconventional subjects then only opt for SAT. 

Currently SAT is undergoing some more changes. Students will now be accessed under 1600 points wherein essay part will be optional and students will get 3 hours and 40 additional minutes for essay only.
